November 21, 1975 - BRENIMAN FIELD WAS NAMED.  Canoga's Football Field is named after Ansel Breniman, the head football coach from 1930 to 1963. In his 30-plus years, he guided the Hunters to 9 league titles with a record of 121 wins, 82 loses, and 10 ties. Breniman retired from football in 1963 but continued to teach health and P.E. until 1969. In addition to football, he coached track, basketball, tennis, gymnastics, and swimming. Breniman graduated from UCLA, where he played football against USC's John Wayne, and he was an alternate in the Decathlon for the 1932 Olympics.

November 28, 2005 - CANOGA'S WEB-SITE WAS LAUNCHED.   The Canoga Park High School's official web-site, www.canogaparkhs.org, went on-line for the first time. It is extremely popular and useful for our entire school community! Thank you to all our students, staff, parents, alumni, and friends of Canoga for visiting us.

November 07, 2008 - RUDY LUGO STADIUM WAS NAMED.  Rudy Lugo Stadium is a part of Canoga's Clem Ruh Memorial Youth Center. Within the Stadium is Breniman Field. Rudy Lugo was the head football coach at Canoga from 1986 to 2006. He was also an assistant football coach for many years, and served at various times as the wrestling coach, and the JV baseball coach. He was a P.E. teacher for the bulk of his career, but started off as a Spanish teacher in 1972. In all, Rudy Lugo was a teacher/coach at Canoga for 35 years. “Few coaches have ever been associated with one community and been as committed to the growth and education of their student-athletes, for so many years.” (KABC Channel 7). Coach Lugo was also a graduate of Canoga in 1965.
