Cross Country News - XC Teams Open Season on Hallowed Ground

Hunters open season with promising times at the Scary Dairy Invitational in Camarillo on Sept. 6. The Girls team is spying on a coveted "back-to-back-to-back" City Championship. It will be especially tough this year as Eagle Rock and Marshall have risen to the top of the Division 2 rankings. The Girls are lead by Senior Sarai Rosas, Junior Abrianna Robles, Abriele Arcilla (Captain), Freshman Daisha Casco and Senior Vanessa Perez.

The Boys team looks to greatly improve with the influx of gifted freshmen Kevin Garcia, Daniel Torres and Luis Menjivar. They are joined by Alexander Ocana (10), Gabriel Medina(10), Ruben Lara(12) and Christopher Jones (12-Captain).

"Scary Dairy" is the local name for the abandoned dairy farm once operated by the Camarillo State Mental Hospital (1936-1997), located in CSU Channel Islands University Park. Now a public park open from sunrise to sunset, its crumbling, graffiti-covered structures are rumored to be haunted, attracting urban explorers, ghost hunters, and hikers.
