The UCLA Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) works with a cohort of students to help them become competitively eligible applicants for college admission, going beyond minimum eligibility. EAOP will work with students throughout their high school career.

The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) provides written recommendations to the School Site Council (SSC) regarding programs and services for the English Learners (EL) students and the use of EIA-LEP funding to support their academic needs. The ELAC reviews student and parent involvement data prior to submitting its written recommendations to the SSC. The ELAC also advises on the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and the budget related to programs/services for ELs and assists in the review of the school's language census. Agendas are posted in front of the school.

Canoga Park High School Cross Country Girls Team has been named City Champions for the 6th time! Congratulations team!

Reminder: the Cal State University and University of California applications are due December 2nd. Please encourage your student to complete their applications before the deadline. Application assistance is available in the College Center Room 211 and the Boys and Girls Club after school in the library. Please visit the school website for additional application help next week. Ms. Olivas' sophomores have been reading Born a Crime by Trevor Noah and learning about narrative writing techniques. On Thursday, November 14th they spent a lovely fall afternoon on the farm observing the animals and the environment. Then, they wrote their own paragraphs using imagery, similes, metaphors, and interesting details to recreate the atmosphere of the farm using language.
